Just who is this Purple Door Creative anyway?
Owner & Creative Director of Purple Door Creative, Paula Kennedy has been working behind the scenes in the real estate industry in Durham Region for more than 20 years. There’s a very good chance that you’ve already seen her work time and again, but you just didn’t realize it.
Paula’s love of photography began at an early age. It was very much an “on again, off again” kind of love affair. Paula and the photographic arts parted ways briefly after a falling out in college. At a time when the pressure of choosing between developing a roll of film for an assignment or putting gas in her car to get to school at all became too much. Yes, college was in the “pre-digital era”! Thankfully, they have since reconciled and are now the very best of friends.
Today, Paula enjoys many aspects of photography with a primary focus on residential real estate photography/video. Landscape, nature, pets, and macro round out her photographic interests.
Paula is also an accomplished and award-winning artist in many artistic mediums and has had her paintings displayed in hospitals and photographs in galleries and offices of prominent local business people.
For photography, Paula shoots with several Canon cameras, a Ricoh Theta Z1, a DJI Osmo 3, a Ronin M and Ronin S, to name just a few of the things you might find her hauling around. She is also an avid camera collector with a large collection of vintage cameras and is always on the hunt to add “just one more” to the collection!
Paula grew up in Pontypool, in the City of Kawartha Lakes, and knows the back roads and by-ways there and around Clarington like the back of her hand. Handy knowledge when shooting country properties for Realtors.

When not working diligently to promote her clients or their products, Paula can be found hanging out with her husband, Darryl and their pets. Paula is an active member with the Norwegian Elkhound community. Working with them, she has been involved in many successful rescues and foster placements over the past 20 years.
